Colloquium on Generating Income Oriented by Handcrafts of Sungai Berua Aboriginal Community 2016 organized by Socioeconomic Development (CSD), Kenyir research Institute (IPK) has been held to share input and information related to handicraft making to Aboriginal communities in commercialization of their products to local and international markets. This program provides information to the Aboriginal community in Kampung Sungai Berua, Hulu Terengganu to enhance their knowledge in seeking opportunities to commercialize their products and to increase their income. The program was attended by 150 people including lecturers, students from tourism course, UMT students and staffs. This program involves the agency from Department of Aboriginal (JAKOA) (Kelantan / Terengganu), Malaysia Handicraft Development Corporation (Terengganu), Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia (Terengganu) and Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP), State of Terengganu.
The program includes two sessions which are morning session for the colloquium program and in the afternoon for the agency engagement discussion sessions. The program was held on 18 May 2016 (Wednesday) at 10.00 am to 5.00 pm at the Auditorium Mahyuddin, UMT (Colloquium Program) and Community Network Room (Agency Engagement Discussion). The program was inaugurated by Prof. Emeritus Dr. Faizah binti Mohd Sharoum, Director of IPK, UMT. The objective of the colloquium is to give exposure to improve the quality of handicraft products in accordance with standard of current market, provide knowledge and methods of marketing and commercialization of handicrafts of Aboriginal people, strengthening the skills of making handicrafts of Aboriginal communities and build partnerships with government agencies related.

Briefing on Wildlife Conservation Act 2010 (Act 716) presented by Mrs. Suhainah @ Farhana binti Pejalis, Senior Assistant Director of Wildlife and National Parks Department, State of Terengganu.
